The Judith C. Sanderson Young Leader Award recognizes one of AAUW Colorado’s young members for outstanding leadership in AAUW, professional development, and community service. Guidelines for this award suggest that the nominee be 40 years of age or younger; be a member of AAUW for at least 3 years; be a resident of Colorado and
a member in good standing of a Colorado branch; have made contributions to AAUW at branch, state and/or national level; and have a distinguished record of education, career, and professional development. Nominations close annually on March 15.

The state board of directors voted to rename the YLA to the Judith C. Sanderson Young Leader Award.
